What?

Abstract?
Rehearsal?
Homophobic?
Sting cover?
This must be some sort of new genre of music that I am unacquainted with.

Quiet is the new loud

How very mellow!
I really like your use of glockenspiels, or xylophones, or one of those instruments with a long name.
Not sure about the vocals during the... emm... chorus? But the rest of the vocals are very nice.
Also, you seem to have a bit of a buzz throughout the song that could be corrected by turning down the very highest frequencies on your EQ.
Apart from that, you have made me, Smashing Pumpkins and Pavement proud. Nice to see a garage band that isn't afraid to be quiet.

Some carbon-monoxide?

You have certainly chosen a very lofty target to emulate.
The guitar is lovely.
The bass sounds a little bit out-of-tempo to begin with, and also lacks the feedback one would expect on bass.
You have got the sound of the vocals perfectly. Unfortunately you and I both have trouble singing like Thom Yorke without sounding like out-of-tune-zombies. PArticularly when long notes are involved.
Recording quality isn't what it might be.
On the whole a relatively pleasant cover of the geniuses themselves.

p-j-hansen responds:

Answer for T-man:You are very kind. The reason for the lack of feedback on the bass is it is really not a bass at all. I used a process to turn one of my eletrics into a bass. Unfortunately, I agree with you completely about my voice.

Quite nice indeed.

This is very nice background music. I detect a lot of Vangelis and video game influence. The kind of thing I can just let play through the back of my life, as I have been doing, unwittingly, for the last five minutes.
I particuarly respect the wonderful violin tones. Really nothing I can say to criticize this music except that perhaps it does not quite feel 'real' enough, it feels heavily quantitized and robitic.
But the personality of the arranging makes up for a lot of that.

Narflebeans responds:

Yea, it is pretty uh, well, quantized for lack of a better term, I totally agree. I'm still experimenting with this program of mine, and this song was part of the first batch that came out of it. Thanks for listening though, I'm very happy that you enjoyed it.

Ouch! Canned Heat!

Ooh what a lovely beginning!
I see that you really have your generic techno-tones in the bag!
Is this all MIDI?
Very nice use of the alarm sample.
All in all, you have definately set the dancefloor on fire. Perhaps your next objective should be to reinvent the dancefloor. I imagine you are capable of something severely original.

Scorpion132 responds:

Thx for reviewing, and im planing to make something original, just dont have the right equipment now, but im thinking of getting a DJ mixing table. anyways thx for that review.

Oh Yeah!

Indeed, this is just what I wanted to hear. Never before has the bone-munching behavior of snails been so beautifully rendered.
You songmanship is little simplistic, but that is no matter because the clarity of your voices is beautiful. Are you using real instruments or computer programs?
Either way, you must review one of my songs, not because I am desperately advertising myself, but because I want you to tell me how to get such beautiful recording quality.

Real VAST?

Wow.
This song was so good I feel almost like it has to be the real VAST rather than realVAST.
I hope this is you.
If this is you then you are a genius.

Well Crescendo-ed!

That was certainly a long build-up!
I have always enjoyed songs that build up atmosphere towards and inevitable crescendo, and this song was certainly one of them. I very much like both your long drawn-out voice and beepier tones. I also like how you have made your drums sound like part of the song rather than just metronomic interuptions.
The only thing that was not to my taste was the pop-iness of the tones, but that is a stylistic thing rather than something you did wrong.
My applause to you.

staticnoise responds:

Awesome Iglet!

Thanks for the review and the specific details.

you rock!

Well I am glad we established that

I see that a lot of soul-searching went into this particular ditty. I applaud you for continuing the campaign against America's ugly and obese.

EdibleCastle responds:

well its just the theme song for "Kan0"s wonderful underrated series "Roy"

The most of what you've got.

Even with a title like 'Madness with a Hi-Hat' I expected a little more than just a drum beat.
That aside, it is a very good drum beat. Nicely syncopated. You might be able to work even greater wonders were you to make your own beats.
But I applaud you for making the most of what you've got, something we all must do.
