Vampires

Ok, I will admit, I was first drawn to your song through your terrible spelling of 'Involuntary Sleep'. (Unvolentery Sleep, what the hell, didn't you go to school?)
But now I will listen to your music and tell you what I think, because that's why you posted it up right?
I see that to you 'goth' doesn't mean a lot of shouting and shredding of guitars, I like that you are going with goth the emotion rather than goth the silly teenage genre.
I also really like the fashion in which your ending trails off at the end.
The rest of the song is catchy, but very basic. My first suggestion would be that you start using whatever keyboard/synth/MIDI system you are running to create your own voices rather than running the rather dull pre-programmed ones.
But apart from that perfectly nice, you keep your recording quality high, something I completly fail to do.

XxX-WOLF-XxX responds:

Hmm, well I do go to school, and I like to think of myself as somene who speaks the english language well, yet, I SO suck at spelling sometimes...
Anyways, thanx, ur right about that whole other aspect of goth, its the emotion I like to express, rather than what kids see goth as today.
I would create my own sounds and what not, but this is just a small hobby, im actually in a band and it takes up most of my time.... thanx again...

Change the world!

Well, just looking at your previous scores you seem to be working on a pretty high standard.
My normal complaint for a song like this would be that nothing seems tangible, it all seems too computerized, but I swear those drums sound real, so I can't make that statement.
so what can i say. It is very fun. Very jumpy. Syncopated almost to over-syncopation. I like the little tag line at the beginning. It ends a bit suddenly but I am listening for the second time and it still sounds freash and clean.
So I guess my one critical statement (because I feel silly if I don't make one critical statement) would be why is a man of your talent not reinventing music, you seem to currently be really good at doing what people have already done, use your talent to create something new and world changing!

DJFuzzy responds:

hummm, i have never look at it that way..."use your talent to create something new and world changing!" thats a very deep thing you know, all most like milk in cookies...sorry i had to say that. will i do k/ will...i will try anyway

I distinctly hear a funky beat!

And out of chaos came...
A funky beat?
Why yes! I distinctly hear a funky beat!
I am very impressed at your skills as an arranger, that is for sure, it must have taken a loooong time to sync all these tracks (or perhaps I am just using the wrong program).
Can't say it was the most pleasant thing in the world to listen to, a little bit too shrill, but it certainly got my head bobbing.
I personally have always had a slight problem with songs that are purely MIDI. I like to also hear noises from the real-world if you know what I mean. But I am aware that there are others who do not share that conviction.
So I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
Anyway, I have written too much, very well done, three cheers!

ZooL152004 responds:

thanks for the review (i think lol), i always try to be original with my mixes and this one was an emphasis of just that, not all music has to be from a certain genre, it can be a mixture of many and this is the goal i like to reach with most of my songs. what i like to hear better than anything though are people's opinions. if i have entertained you, even for just a brief moment, it makes me feel that it was worth the effort. thank you for spending time to write a review and i hope you listen to more of my tracks in future.

cheers

Head bhanging.

Bhangra-ing up the hizzy!
Ok, that probably wasn't a bhangra sample at all, but thats the only asian genre (apart from j-pop) that I know.
I really like how this song just fades out gracefully. I like the sample, if indeed it was a sample. And even though the sample is a little our of sync with the drums it makes the song feel edgy, and dare i say, RAUNCHY!
Whatever that means.
Give us a song of epic proportions. Or keey it simple, who am I to tell you what to do!

FireWaterBurn responds:

Thanks dude i've started working a longer version of this with some twists in it. So keep your eye out for it.

Some carbon-monoxide?

You have certainly chosen a very lofty target to emulate.
The guitar is lovely.
The bass sounds a little bit out-of-tempo to begin with, and also lacks the feedback one would expect on bass.
You have got the sound of the vocals perfectly. Unfortunately you and I both have trouble singing like Thom Yorke without sounding like out-of-tune-zombies. PArticularly when long notes are involved.
Recording quality isn't what it might be.
On the whole a relatively pleasant cover of the geniuses themselves.

p-j-hansen responds:

Answer for T-man:You are very kind. The reason for the lack of feedback on the bass is it is really not a bass at all. I used a process to turn one of my eletrics into a bass. Unfortunately, I agree with you completely about my voice.

Quite nice indeed.

This is very nice background music. I detect a lot of Vangelis and video game influence. The kind of thing I can just let play through the back of my life, as I have been doing, unwittingly, for the last five minutes.
I particuarly respect the wonderful violin tones. Really nothing I can say to criticize this music except that perhaps it does not quite feel 'real' enough, it feels heavily quantitized and robitic.
But the personality of the arranging makes up for a lot of that.

Narflebeans responds:

Yea, it is pretty uh, well, quantized for lack of a better term, I totally agree. I'm still experimenting with this program of mine, and this song was part of the first batch that came out of it. Thanks for listening though, I'm very happy that you enjoyed it.

Ouch! Canned Heat!

Ooh what a lovely beginning!
I see that you really have your generic techno-tones in the bag!
Is this all MIDI?
Very nice use of the alarm sample.
All in all, you have definately set the dancefloor on fire. Perhaps your next objective should be to reinvent the dancefloor. I imagine you are capable of something severely original.

Scorpion132 responds:

Thx for reviewing, and im planing to make something original, just dont have the right equipment now, but im thinking of getting a DJ mixing table. anyways thx for that review.

Well Crescendo-ed!

That was certainly a long build-up!
I have always enjoyed songs that build up atmosphere towards and inevitable crescendo, and this song was certainly one of them. I very much like both your long drawn-out voice and beepier tones. I also like how you have made your drums sound like part of the song rather than just metronomic interuptions.
The only thing that was not to my taste was the pop-iness of the tones, but that is a stylistic thing rather than something you did wrong.
My applause to you.

staticnoise responds:

Awesome Iglet!

Thanks for the review and the specific details.

you rock!

static

Well I am glad we established that

I see that a lot of soul-searching went into this particular ditty. I applaud you for continuing the campaign against America's ugly and obese.

EdibleCastle responds:

well its just the theme song for "Kan0"s wonderful underrated series "Roy"

Crunkin!

The nonexistant wife, kids and I all enjoyed this song. We put on our green berets and bopped around while consuming nibbles on cocktail sticks.
If you hadn't expressely told me not to steal this, I might have considered it.
I suppose all that I would suggest you add to a song like this would be a melody to give us a sense of direction. But that is a hardly necessary, more a personal choice.
Good stuff! Cheerio!

EyeWhereMooMoos responds:

Whoa, an entire family enjoying my music, eh? I'm flattered! I never thought of the absence of a melody, but now that you mention it, yes, there is a lack of direction. Wish I could go back and edit, but I can't. Thanks for the review.
